Ingredients
- 2 skirt steaks
- 1 large red or orange bell pepper
- 1 medium onion
- 2 shallots
- 1 large bunch thai basil (about 10+ stems)
- 1-3 Thai chilies
- 2 large cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup fish sauce
- a pinch of chili garlic sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons hot chili sesame oil
- garnish with toasted sesame seeds and/or toasted cashews and lime wedges
Directions
- Slice onions, shallots, and bell pepper and saute with sesame oil.
- Slice steak thinly across the grain.
- Push vegetables to the outside of the pan and saute steak in center.
- Brown steak on both sides then mix in with vegetables.
- Add garlic, chilies, sauces, and thai basil torn into small pieces.
- Heat through and serve over rice or rice noodles.
