Continuing with my love for lemon and lavender, these quick and easy scones went over quite well with dairy-free house guests.
Orange Scones with Dark Chocolate Chunks
Beautiful orange vanilla flavor combo with bittersweet chunks of chocolate all throughout.
Eggnog Bread Bake
This is a basic bread pudding or French toast bake, whatever you’d like to call it, with a hint of holiday joy from the eggnog.
Lemon Blueberry Scones
Classic combo. Super simple scones. Recipe from King Arthur.
Cinnamon Citrus Biscotti
Recipe slightly adapted from The Spice House. A lovely blend of cinnamon, orange, and pecans.
Coffee Cake
Recipe adapted from Ina Garten. Original recipe calls for a maple glaze, which I find totally unnecessary. The addition of orange zest, extra cinnamon, and definite use of walnuts is key for my taste.
Rhubarb Lavender Buttermilk Scones
Recipe adapted from Optional Kitchen.
Cheddar Scallion Jalapeno Scones
These savory scones fill the kitchen with a mouth-watering aroma when I bake them on a Saturday morning. Sometimes I make this recipe with just a handful of chopped chives instead of scallions and jalapenos, which is also super tasty.
Cream Tea Scones
These classic cream scones are perfect for a weekend treat. The texture is quite different from the silky scones I like to make with frozen butter, but delicious all the same. For a slightly different flavor, sometimes I like to put a little citrus zest into the cream or replace some of the sugar with maple flakes.
Bagels
Dick’s go-to bagel recipe for when we’re craving bagel and lox brunch.
