Ingredients

  • 1 slice of red bell pepper, diced
  • 3 fresh basil leaves, 2 torn for muddling and 1 for garnish
  • 2 oz mezcal
  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz amaro or fernet
  • lime wheel or wedge for garnish
  • ice for shaking + 1 large cube for serving

Directions

  1. Muddle the diced pepper, 2 torn basil leaves, and lime juice in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add mezcal, amaro/fernet, ice and shake.
  3. Add 1 large ice cube to a rocks glass and strain/pour the cocktail into the glass.
  4. Garnish with 1 fresh basil leave and a lime wheel and serve.
