Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350.
  2. Grease Bundt or loaf pan and dust it with flour.
  3. In a large bowl, beat sugar and butter until fluffy. Add vanilla and then the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger & cloves and mix well. Alternately add dry ingredients and pumpkin to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition.
  5. Pour the batter into the pan.
  6. Bake for 70 minutes (toothpick test for doneness). Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert on a serving plate to cool completely.
